Capsule Geology

The Sphal claim area is underlain by Upper Paleozoic strata of the Stikine Assemblage.

Siliceous chlorite-sericite schist and quartz ankerite rich shears contain pyrite, chalcopyrite and minor barite. Structures are abundant but discontinuous. An area near the centre of Sphal 7 was encountered in 1988 prospecting that consisted of quartz veins sparsely mineralized with pyrite and chalcopyrite.

Some work was done in 1988 by International Corona but no report is referenced for this. Follow up work in 1989 consisted of the collection of 45 rock samples.
